Ny samling i SI-forum!

Tid: Tirsdag 4. november 2025 kl. 17:00-20:00 (Dørene åpner kl. 16:30)
Sted: STARTUPLAB, Gaustadalleen 21, 0349 Oslo

Seminaret er GRATIS, men vi ønsker at du melder deg på her:

Det blir enkel servering, type pizza e.l. så det er bare å komme rett etter jobb!

Foreløpig oversikt over foredrag:

Torbjørn Viksand, CapExt AS:
The Latest WaveExt Version
This presentation will work through the latest WaveExt signal integrity tool, its current workflow for analyzing high-speed PCB layouts. This tool is still under development, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Jan Pedersen, NCAB Group:
Tabbed Routing – Enhancing High-Speed PCB Design
Tabbed Routing is a breakthrough technique for improving signal integrity in high-speed PCB layouts, especially in DDR DIMM applications. By adding trapezoidal tabs to traces, it helps control impedance and reduce crosstalk in dense routing areas. This presentation outlines its theoretical basis, practical design rules, simulation results, and implementation using Allegro software. Ideal for engineers tackling signal quality challenges in compact, high-speed designs.

Vladimir Vassilev, Lightside Instruments AS:
Eye Diagram acquisition for SFP+ ports and transceiver characterization of 1Gb and 10Gb Ethernet devices

We will share our experience with the process of design and production of networking device with SFP+ ports and validating the signal integrity performance of its tranceivers.
Both the DUT (OSHWA NO000005) and the SFP to SMA coaxial breakout module (OSHWA NO000009) used are opensource-hardware KiCAD designs published by us with the intent to serve as request for comment and reference designs that can be modified and improved by the SI community.

Halvor Liland, SI Expert:
Crosstalk in PCBs: The NEXT and FEXT Challenge

Crosstalk is a critical signal integrity issue for any electronics engineer working with PCBs. This presentation breaks down the core concepts of near-end (NEXT) and far-end (FEXT) crosstalk, explaining how these phenomena arise and how they impact signal quality. It will focus on stripline routing and reveal why this configuration effectively eliminates FEXT. Finally, it will explore how this unique characteristic can be exploited to your advantage in high-speed designs.
